There is something magical about a cup of tea from a pot made with loose leaf tea. For me, memories of my Nanna with her Co-Op 99 loose leaf, named 99 as that was how many days the tea clipper took to ship the tea. Not sure my Nanna knew that, but of late my obsession with the loose leaf tea, has made me research that.
My step mum Betty, reading tea leaves, staring into that willow tea cup, me hanging on to her somewhat vicarious predictions of loves to come and adventures to be had. If she spotted something untoward, her brow would furrow and she would say she was not getting a read today. ” Oooh I see money ” was always a good one, then slip me 50p !
