In the heart of Hove, a neighbourhood known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse culinary scene, a void existed. While countless coffee shops offered trendy brews and stylish ambiences, the humble tea had been largely overlooked. The options for those seeking a truly exceptional cup of tea were limited, often relegated to the convenience of a tea bag.
Recognising this gap, Tea Shop was established with a simple yet ambitious mission: to provide the community with a haven for high-quality, passionately brewed tea. We believe that tea, often overshadowed by its more fashionable counterpart, coffee, deserves a place of honour in the hot drinks market. As discerning drinkers increasingly demand a superior tea experience, our carefully curated blends aim to satisfy even the most sophisticated palates.
To ensure that our offerings align with the local spirit, we’ve forged partnerships with three Brighton-based women-owned businesses: Float Spa Hove, MD Tea and OMGtea. These collaborations not only support the local economy but also bring a wealth of expertise and passion to our tea selection. By working together, we can offer a truly unique and authentic tea experience that reflects the vibrant culture of Hove.
Lynda Racz is a seasoned hospitality professional who, after decades of working in the casino, hotel, and beverage industry, decided to embark on her own entrepreneurial venture. Partnering with her Sister in Law, Sarah Tinker Taylor, their passion for hospitality and community led them to create a diverse range of businesses, each focused on providing high-quality experiences.
CrabShack is the cornerstone of their business empire. This seafood bar and restaurant in Worthing offers fresh, locally sourced seafood dishes in a welcoming atmosphere. To expand their reach, Lynda & Sarah also launched Grab A Shack, a mobile catering service that brings the CrabShack experience to various events and locations. Additionally, the Caught By Crabshack PoP Up offers a more casual dining experience, showcasing the freshest seafood in a pop-up format.
With these businesses firmly established, Lynda turned her attention to a new sole project. Driven by a desire to create a communal space, she envisioned a venue offering high-quality tea and locally sourced artisanal goods. This new venture would provide a welcoming environment for people to discover freshly brewed loose-leaf quality tea. Not just a bag in a cup, a ritual, a retreat in a calm and welcome space.
